Introduction
Known for finding creative solutions to technical problems, Ken Furness has been called the “MacGyver” of Television by his colleagues. Ken has over 36 years of experience in the Television and Cable Industry, with over 34 years with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
From one of the first “Miles for Millions Walk” in Toronto, to Political Conventions across Canada and the United States, events on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, participation on various Parliamentary Media committees, to the design of Satellite Trucks and new Television Facilities.
Ken has been nominated for the CBC Micam Award for Engineering twice, receiving it once. Has been nominated for the CBC’s President’s Award twice, and has also been voted an Honorary Member of the Parliamentary Press Gallery for his work on Parliament Hill.
